Preliminary Round Day 5: PUERTO RICO - MEXICO 65-75

Mexico remain unbeaten at home tournament as they won Group A of the 2014 Centrobasket. Mexico handed Puerto Rico a 75:65 win and celebrated fourth consecutive win. Puerto Rico meanwhile suffered their first loss and finished second with a 3-1 record. Both teams advanced to the Semifinals of the tournament as well as 2015 Fiba Americas Championship. Puerto Rico started the game with a 19-15 run and added 16-5 rally in the second period. Mexico however needed a strong second half and clinched the victory. They produced a 23-20 run in the third period and finished the game with a 22-10 surge in the last stanza. Jorge Gutierrez top-scored for the winners with 24 points and Gustavo Ayon nailed 18. Barea finished the game with 24 points in the losing effort and Filiberto Rivera netted 13.
