Mexico are the new Centrobasket champions. They overcame Puerto Rico in front of the home crowd in Nayarit to clinch the title. Gustavo Ayon was pivotal with 16 points and 16 rebounds to pace the winners. Mexico eked out a 16:14 lead after the first frame. Puerto Rico erased the deficit in the second period. The visitors jumped at 35:27 halftime lead. But Mexico responded with a strong 25:13 run in the third term to establish a 52:48 advantage at the final intermission. Mexico went on a 22:12 run in the fourth period and sealed the winning outcome. Francisco Cruz had 16 points, while Roman Martinez added 14 points for the winners. Michael Rosario responded with 14 points for Puerto Rico. Ramon Clemente had 13 points in the loss.
