Croatia and Philippines went an extra distance before deciding on the winner in the exciting clash in Sevilla today. Bojan Bogdanovic unloaded 26 points to pace the European team. Croatia got to a comfortable start. They ensured a 23:9 lead after the first period. But Philippines picked up the tempo in the second frame. The Asian team responded with a 22:14 run to cut the deficit. Croatia maintained the advantage throughout the second term. They entered the third period up by 8 points. But Philippines denied the deficit and pulled ahead for a three-point lead late in regulation. However Krunoslav Simon drained a crucial three-pointer to level things up. Saric put Croatia back in front but Jayson Castro answered with a jumper to force overtime. Croatia used all of their experience in the extra period to snatch a tough three-point win at the end. Krunoslav Simon delivered 12 points, while Dario Saric added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Blatche responded with 28 points and 12 rebounds for Philippines. Chan had 17 points in the loss.
