They shot accurately to account for 27 points in the first period. Mexico posted a 5-point lead. Lithuania slowed their opponents in the second quarter. They pulled ahead for a 45:41 halftime lead. Lithuania shifted the gear in the third term. They opened a 14-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Mexico tried to put up a comeback rally in the final stanza but Lithuania protected the lead well and secured the winning outcome. Valanciunas had 17 points, while Motiejunas added 15 points for the winners. Cruz answered with 21 points for Mexico. Gutierrez had 13 points in the loss.
