Regular Season Day 5: SOUTH KOREA - MEXICO 71-87

Mexico defeated South Korea to earn the key victory in the quest for the World Cup playoffs ticket. Mexico therefore clinched the fourth position in Group D and would face the mighty USA in the eighthfinals. Hector Hernandez delivered 16 points and 11 rebounds to pace the winners. Mexico opened a 40:31 halftime lead. They quickly stretched the gap to double digits in the third term and coasted to the victory afterwards. Marco Ramos accounted for 14 points for Mexico. Tae-Jong Moon responded with 16 points for South Korea.
