1/8 Finals Day 6: TURKEY - AUSTRALIA 65-64

Emir Preldzic drained a three-pointer with 5 seconds left in regulation to propel Turkey past Australia in the eighth-final clash in Spain tonight. Turkey trailed throughout the bigger part of the game but relied on a late jumper from Preldzic to upset the Boomers. Australia posted an 18:15 lead ten minutes into the game. Turkey did not allow the Boomers to clear off in the next period. They pulled within a single point at the interval 34:35. But Australia held their opponents to just 12 points in the third term and ensured a 4-point lead before the final stanza. Matthew Dellavedova made it a 5-point game 64:59 with 62 seconds remaining in regulation. But Emir Preldzic hit a three-pointer and then followed with a huge another one to give Turkey a 65:64 lead with 5 seconds remaining. Joe Ingles followed with a turnover and Turkey got away with a dramatic victory. Emir Preldzic and Sinan Guler finished with 16 points each for the winners. Ender Arslan added 11 points for Turkey. Aron Baynes responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds for Australia. Matthew Dellavedova had 13 points in the loss.
