Regular Season Round 1: Satu Mare - Craiova 101-69

Satu Mare used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Craiova 101-69 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Satu Mare. Craiova was better in third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Satu Mare dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova's 40. Craiova was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Ashley Adams (196, college: Ohio St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international swingman Andreea Orosz (183-86) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Satu Mare players scored in double figures. Coach Peter Eles's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side swingman Irina Bors (178-88) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of her sixteen free throws !!!) and forward Janina Simionca (176-84) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Satu Mare will face Galati on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Craiova will play against Rapid and hope to win that game.
