We should mention about the upset which took place in Pruszkow, where Pogon Prudnik (0-1) lost to Znicz Basket (1-0) in a road game 57-67 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Znicz Basket dominated on the defensive end, holding Pogon Prudnik to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Pogon Prudnik's 24. They outrebounded Pogon Prudnik 40-28 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Adam Linowski (201-87, agency: Promotex) fired 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Swingman Damian Janiak (195-89) chipped in 13 points. Swingman Kacper Stalicki (195-92) produced 13 points and power forward Adam Cichon (203-90) added 4 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Pogon Prudnik's coach Tomasz Michalak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Znicz Basket will face Legia in Warszawa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pogon Prudnik will play on the road against Zaglebie in Sosnowiec and hope to win that game.
