Regular Season Round 2: Gotha - Vechta 74-56

There was a minor upset when SC Rasta Vechta (1-1) was defeated on the road by Oettinger Rockets Gotha (1-1) 74-56 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-56. American center Will Reinke (208-90, college: Oklah.Christian) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Forward Fabian Franke (198-88) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Chase Griffin (188-83, college: Pepperdine) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will face Baunach on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SC Rasta Vechta will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the BBL just one year after relegation.
