BG 74 Veilchen used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Hagen 73-43. The game without a history. BG 74 Veilchen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hagen Phoenix's 32. American guard Monique Smalls (168-91, college: Texas Tech) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. The other American import power forward Nicole Jones (188-89, college: Drexel) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four BG 74 Veilchen players scored in double figures. Power forward Pia Kassack (186-82) replied with 11 points and swingman Elina Stahmeyer (180-91) added 11 points in the effort for Hagen Phoenix. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BG 74 Veilchen will play against Braunschweig on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
