Regular Season Round 3: Quimper - Challans 82-72

Very important is a road loss of Vendee Challans (2-1) against Quimper UJAP (2-1) on Tuesday night. Visiting Vendee Challans was defeated by Quimper UJAP in Quimper 82-72. It looked good early as Vendee Challans took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Quimper UJAP had a 22-7 second period charge getting the lead and Vendee Challans was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-82. Quimper UJAP dominated on the defensive end, holding Vendee Challans to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Mathieu Tensorer (198-83) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. American forward Alex Okafor (202-87, college: Princeton) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Tony Ramphort (173-82) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Vendee Challans in the defeat. Quimper UJAP will play against JA Vichy on the road in the next round. Vendee Challans will play against Mulhouse Basket and hopes to get back on the winning track.
