There was a surprise result when FYR Macedonian MZT Skopje (1-1) beat at home Croatian KK Zadar (1-1) 72-58. The game was mostly controlled by MZT Skopje. KK Zadar was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian point guard Aleksandar Cvetkovic (183-93) notched 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Georgian point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) supported him with 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) did not help to save the game for KK Zadar. Center Ive Ivanov (200-85) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MZT Skopje will play against Buducnost in Podgorica in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KK Zadar will play at home against Levski Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
