Regular Season Round 2: Marin - Canarias 67-56

Marin used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Gran Canaria 67-56 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Marin. Canarias was better in fourth quarter 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Marin forced 19 Canarias turnovers. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian forward Ike Azotam (201-91, college: Quinnipiac) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Center Javier Medori (201-93) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Marin players scored in double figures. British guard Tom Ward (193-88, college: St.Michael's) produced 23 points and swingman Roberto Guerra (196-83) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Marin will face Cambados (#6) on the road in the next round. Canarias will play against Azpeitia and hope to win that game.
