There was a surprise result when Licher Basket (1-2) edged at home TV Langen (1-2) 72-69 on Saturday. Licher Basket forced 24 TV Langen turnovers. TV Langen was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American Andrae Nelson (201-91, college: Morehouse) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jermale Jones (186-86, college: Tuskegee) contributed with 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American swingman Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and center Tom-Niclas Alte (205-95) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for TV Langen. Four TV Langen players scored in double figures. TV Langen's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Licher Basket will face Speyer on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
