Regular Season Round 4: Silute - Rasai 79-84

Date: October 11, 2014
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Rasai and 10th ranked Silute had identical 1-2 record. But Silute was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from 84-79 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-79. Rasai made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Silute turnovers. Silute was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Valdemaras Savostjanovas (200-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Giedrius Kurtinaitis (195-86) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side center Nerijus Anglickis (214-90) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Evaldas Saulys (196-93) scored 15 points. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Rasai (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Silute dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Rasai will face higher ranked Petrochema (#3) in Jonava in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Silute will play at home against the league's leader Ezerunas-Karys (#1) and hope to win that game.
