Date: October 11, 2014
Bottom-ranked Titanicos (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-81 loss to thirteenth ranked Panteras (2-4) in . The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-15. But Titanicos won second period 26-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panteras made 26-of-31 charity shots (83.9 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Titanicos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Puerto Rican point guard Ricardo Melendez (179-83) notched 27 points to lead the effort and Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports) supported him with 21 points. Even 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (190-90, college: NJIT) did not help to save the game for Titanicos. His fellow American import guard Greg Preer (191-88, college: Ashland) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Panteras moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Titanicos still closes the standings with six games lost. Panteras' next round opponent will be league's leader Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Titanicos will play on the road against Halcones UV Xalapa (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
