Regular Season Round 4: Nafta-Uni. - Petrochema 64-77

Very significant was Petrochema's (#7) 77-64 road victory against 6th ranked Nafta-Uni.. The game without a history. Petrochema led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Nafta-Uni.'s 28. The winners were led by forward Karolis Sarukas (198-95) who scored that evening 23 points and 4 steals and guard Ricardas Verbickas (191-95) supported him with 20 points. Even 5 points and 12 rebounds by forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) did not help to save the game for Nafta-Uni.. Forward Dainius Vaitelis (200-86) added 12 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Petrochema have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Nafta-Uni. at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Petrochema will play against Rasai (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Nafta-Uni. will play against Zalgiris II in Kaunas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
