The game had a very big importance for second-ranked ALBA Berlin as it allowed them to take a leadership position. ALBA Berlin smashed 7th ranked ratiopharm Ulm at home 88-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ratiopharm Ulm. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-68. ALBA Berlin dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to ratiopharm Ulm's 22 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian forward Boris Savovic (206-87, agency: Beo Basket) added 15 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) in the effort for ratiopharm Ulm. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ALBA Berlin have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with B.Muenchen and Art.Dragons. ratiopharm Ulm at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with Ludwigsburg and TBB Trier. ratiopharm Ulm will play next round against EnBW Ludwigsburg trying to get back on the winning streak.
