Quite upsetting was Lucca's 30-point home defeat in a game versus Familia Schio who crushed hosts The game without a history. Familia Schio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lucca to just 5 points in third quarter and to 10 points in second half. Familia Schio dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Lucca's 22. Familia Schio forced 20 Lucca turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American forward Chiney Ogwumike (193-92, college: Stanford) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international forward Laura Macchi (188-79) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Kayla Pedersen (193-89, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian center Nikolina Milic (191-94, agency: LBM Management) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Familia Schio will meet at home Trieste in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lucca will play against Orvieto and hope to win that game.
