Regular Season Round 2: Terpsithea - Athinaikos 58-55

Important game to mention about took place in Glyfadas. Terpsithea (1-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Athinaikos (0-2) 58-55 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as Athinaikos took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Terpsithea had a 17-11 second period charge getting the lead and Athinaikos was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 55-58. Terpsithea made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Athinaikos turnovers. American forward Alexandra Williams (183, college: St.Francis, PA) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Danielle Spiliotis (185-90, college: Cedarville) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The former international guard Anastasia Kostaki (172-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Theodora Panteli (183-87, college: Binghamton) scored 4 points and 14 rebounds. Athinaikos' coach Kostas Keramidas tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Terpsithea will play against Panathlitikos in the next round where they are favorite. Athinaikos will play against Ippokratis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
