The game in Akureyri was also worth to mention about. Hottur (2-0) played at the court of Thor AK (0-2). Hottur did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 72-55. The game was mostly controlled by Hottur. Thor AK was better in second period 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Hreinn Birgisson (190-89) contributed with 10 points for the winners. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. point guard Einar Eyjolfsson (178-94) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Vic Ian Damasin (179-92) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Thor AK. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hottur's next round opponent will be KFI in Isafjordur where they are favorite. Thor AK will play on the road against IA in Akranes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
