Regular Season Round 4: Oita H.Devils - Aomori Watts 74-92

Very predictable result when third ranked Aomori Watts (3-1) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Oita Heat Devils (0-4) 92-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aomori Watts. Oita Heat Devils was better in third quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aomori Watts looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) who added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Aomori Watts' coach Koshirashi Munakata used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Kellen Thornton (201-88, college: Tennessee St., agency: David Lee services) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and guard Hiroki Oshiro (172-88) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Aomori Watts keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Oita Heat Devils still closes the standings with four games lost. Aomori Watts will face Yokohama BC (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Oita Heat Devils will play against Fukuoka Rizing and hope to get finally their first victory.
