Regular Season Round 1: KK Strumica - Kumanovo 74-92

An interesting game was also a 18-point tough home loss of ABA Strumica in a game versus Kumanovo 2009 92-74. Kumanovo 2009 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kumanovo 2009 dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to ABA Strumica's 40. Kumanovo 2009 had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Serbian swingman Vukasin Mandic (200-82) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 23 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). American guard Philip Brooks (188-85, college: Langston) came up with 26 points and 5 assists and Serbian center Nemanja Karalic (208-88) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for ABA Strumica in the defeat. Four ABA Strumica players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kumanovo 2009 will meet at home Kozuv in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ABA Strumica will play against Feni Indistrija in Kavadarci and hope to win that game.
