Regular Season Round 3: Palma - Melilla 84-88

Very important is a home loss of Palma (2-1) against Melilla Baloncesto (2-1) on Wednesday night. Host Palma was defeated by Melilla Baloncesto in a tough game in S'Arenal 84-88. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Palma won third quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Enric Garrido (178-82) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 assists. Swingman Carles Bravo (193-79) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Melilla Baloncesto's coach Alejandro Alcoba used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) came up with 20 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the other American import forward Shawn Glover (201-90, college: ORU) added 19 points respectively for Palma in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Melilla Baloncesto will meet at home Prat in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palma will play against Palencia Baloncesto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
