Quarter-Finals Round 3: Manizales - Bucaros 76-80

Bucaros escaped with a narrow victory over Manizales and secured a 2-1 lead in the quarterfinal series. It looked good early as Manizales took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bucaros had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Manizales were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-80. Bucaros shot 25 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Manizales only scored six points from the stripe. 26 personal fouls committed by Manizales helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for Puerto Rican guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91) who led the winners and scored 37 points (!!!). The former international center John Hernandez (207-84) accounted for 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Lawrence Gilbert (200-86, college: La-Monroe) came up with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import guard Jonathan Walker (191-86, college: McMurry, agency: Prossin Sports Management Inc.) added 17 points respectively for Manizales in the defeat. Four Manizales players scored in double figures.
