Regular Season Round 7: Halc.Xalapa - Titanicos 106-75

Everything went according to plan when Halcones UV Xalapa (5-2) outplayed at home Titanicos (0-7) 106-75 on Thursday. Halcones UV Xalapa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 30-of-37 free shots (81.1 percent) during the game, while Titanicos only scored eleven points from the stripe. Titanicos were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Michael Glover (200-87, college: Iona) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Isaiah Wilkerson (190-90, college: NJIT) answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Greg Preer (191-88, college: Ashland) added 17 points in the effort for Titanicos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Halcones UV Xalapa maintains third place with 5-2 record behind leader Fuerza Regia. Newly promoted Titanicos still closes the standings with seven games lost. Halcones UV Xalapa will face Abejas in Guanajuato in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Titanicos will play on the road against Halcones Rojos in Veracruz and hope to get finally their first victory.
