Regular Season Round 4: Trefl II Sopot - KUKS Koszalin 67-50

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Trefl II Sopot as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. Trefl II Sopot defeated bottom-ranked KUKS Koszalin at home 67-50. It looked good early as KUKS Koszalin took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Trefl II Sopot had a 20-12 second period charge getting the lead and KUKS Koszalin was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-67. Trefl II Sopot forced 25 KUKS Koszalin turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 31 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Pawel Krefft (188-96) who scored that evening 19 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Jakub Czyz (202-95) supported him with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Trefl II Sopot players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by Pawel Spica (192-93) did not help to save the game for KUKS Koszalin. Pawel Czubak (186-93) added 9 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trefl II Sopot have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Newly promoted KUKS Koszalin still closes the standings with three games lost. KUKS Koszalin will play next round against SMS PZKosz trying to get back on the winning streak. Trefl II Sopot will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Asseco II at Gdynia.
