Regular Season Round 6: JAZZ-Diremta - Petrochema 64-71

Bottom-ranked JAZZ-Diremta is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to third ranked Petrochema (5-1) 71-64 on Saturday evening. JAZZ-Diremta was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-12 charge of Petrochema, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 JAZZ-Diremta turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Vladislovas Razumnovas (191-95) notched 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Aurimas Urbonas (197-93) supported him with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds by Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for JAZZ-Diremta. Mantvydas Staselis (190-94) added 17 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Petrochema have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Perlas-MRU and Ezerunas-Karys. Loser JAZZ-Diremta still closes the standings with six games lost. Petrochema will meet Trakai (#5) on the road in the next round. JAZZ-Diremta's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas Zalgiris II.
