Quarter-Finals Round 5: Cimarrones - Piratas 72-53

Cimarrones rolled past Piratas in the decisive fifth game of the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Cimarrones. Piratas was better in third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cimarrones dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas' 30 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Cimarrones looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Randy Hunter (198-90, college: Humboldt St.) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Edgar Moreno (190-81, college: UTEP) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Cimarrones' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican guard Chris Perez (190-90, college: Canisius) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Juan Herrera (197-81) added 14 points respectively for the guests.
