Guerreros needed overtime to tame Cafeteros and clinch the semifinal appearance. The game was mostly controlled by Guerreros. Cafeteros was better in second period 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Cafeteros used huge pressure winning it 20-12 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 6-16. Guerreros dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Cafeteros' 32. They outrebounded Cafeteros 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guerreros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Curtis Withers (203-84, college: Charlotte) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Tayron Thomas (191-84, college: Philadelphia) chipped in 27 points and 4 assists. Four Guerreros players scored in double figures. American forward Eric Williams (198-85, college: Tarleton St.) produced 29 points and 4 assists and American-Dominican forward Bobby Pandy (198-84, college: Tex.A&M-Kingsv.) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
