Regular Season Round 2: TLU/Kalev - Lietkabelis 68-86

Date: October 22, 2014
Rather predictable result in Tallinn where Lithuanian Lietkabelis (2-1) beat Estonian TLU/Kalev (0-2) 86-68. The game was mostly controlled by Lietkabelis. TLU/Kalev was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TLU/Kalev 41-21 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by TLU/Kalev helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Vytenis Cizauskas (188-92) notched 25 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian-Lithuanian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) supported him with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Even 23 points by point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) did not help to save the game for TLU/Kalev. Lithuanian center Robertas Grabauskas (208-90, college: Northwood) added 18 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. TLU/Kalev's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Lietkabelis' next round opponent will be Valga Kalev on the road. TLU/Kalev will play against Valmiera and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
