Regular Season Round 8: BK Pardubice - Usti n/Labem 77-74

Rather predictable result when top-ranked BK Pardubice (7-0) edged at home 5th ranked BK Usti nad Labem (4-4) 77-74 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-74. BK Pardubice outrebounded BK Usti nad Labem 45-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Slovakian Dusan Pandula (196-84) who scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Ondrej Kohout (204-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. BK Pardubice's coach Dusan Bohunicky used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Clayton Vette (202-88, college: Winona St.) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and international point guard Michal Carnecky (184-85) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. BK Pardubice have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. BK Usti nad Labem at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. BK Pardubice will face USK Praha on the road in the next round where they are favorite. BK Usti nad Labem will play against BK Decin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
