KL Dragons registered the first victory in the ASEAN League playoffs. The Malaysia powerhouse outgunned the Saigon Heat in the semifinals opener. Eversley tallied 27 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. The Dragons and the Heat exchanged baskets throughout the opening quarter. The scoreboard read 27:27 after ten minutes. The Dragons pulled in front in the second quarter. The Malaysian team secured a 50:44 halftime lead. The home team poured in 28 points in the third term and grabbed an 8-point lead at the final intermission. KL Dragons outgunned their opponents 30:20 in the fourth frame and sealed the win. Scharer had 25 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds, while Knox added 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Justin Williams replied with 26 points and 15 rebounds for the Heat. Arnold had 25 points in the loss.
