Regular Season Round 9: USK Praha - BK Pardubice 72-76

NBL top team - BK Pardubice (8-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked USK Praha (3-5) 76-72. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But USK Praha won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Joseph Wall (200-90, college: Seattle Pacific) stepped up and scored 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Slovakian Dusan Pandula (196-84) chipped in 15 points. Four BK Pardubice players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Slovenian forward Mitja Nikolic-Smrdelj (200-91) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Lukas Festr (185-94) scored 22 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BK Pardubice have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. USK Praha at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with NH Ostrava and J.Hradec. BK Pardubice will play against bottom-ranked MMCITE Brno (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. USK Praha will play against the league's second-placed BK Decin (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
