An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Saint Chamond. First ranked Saint Chamond faced 4th placed Vendee Challans. Host Saint Chamond (6-1) defeated guests from Challans (4-3) 81-76. Vendee Challans trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-81 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for naturalized DR Congolese guard Jean-Paul Landu-Bongo (185-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 4 assists. Power forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (198-83) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. At the losing side Scottish forward Gareth Murray (201-84, college: Kalamazoo Valley CC) responded with 21 points and American forward Alex Okafor (202-87, college: Princeton) scored 15 points. Saint Chamond maintains first place with 6-1 record. Newly promoted Vendee Challans dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Saint Chamond will meet league's second-placed JA Vichy on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vendee Challans will play against La Rochelle (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
