West Coast Waves were upset in Perth by Bulleen Boomers 68-53. The game was mostly controlled by Bulleen Boomers. West Coast Waves managed to win fourth quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded West Coast Waves 46-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Tess Madgen (180-90) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. International guard Rebecca Allen (185-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Deanna Smith (179-80) who recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward Darcy Garbin (185-94) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. West Coast Waves' coach rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bulleen Boomers will meet at home Dandenong Rangers in the next round. West Coast Waves will play against Canberra Capitals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
