Regular Season Round 6: Swords Thunder - Dublin Inter 82-61

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Dublin: Swords Thunder (#8) and Dublin Inter (#6). Swords Thunder (2-1) smashed visiting Dublin Inter (2-3) by 21 points 82-61. Swords Thunder forced 21 Dublin Inter turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Dublin Inter's players. The former international point guard Isaac Westbrooks (189-85) notched 9 points, 5 rebounds, 16 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and American Marcus McDaniels (196) supported him with 20 points. Even a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds by Lithuanian forward Irmantas Griksas (202-86) did not help to save the game for Dublin Inter. Audrius Urbanivicius added 14 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Swords Thunder moved-up to fourth place. Dublin Inter at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with DCU Saints and UCD Marian. Swords Thunder will play against league's second-placed Killester in Dublin in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Dublin Inter will have a break next round.
