Regular Season Round 6: SKK Siedlce - GTK Gliwice 78-74

SKK Siedlce has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive loses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked GTK Gliwice (2-4) 78-74 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-74. SKK Siedlce dominated on the defensive end, holding GTK Gliwice to just 7 points in second quarter. The best player for the winners was Daniel Wall (196-82, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Rafal Sobilo (188-89) chipped in 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four SKK Siedlce players scored in double figures. SKK Siedlce's coach Wieslaw Gluszczak used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Artur Donigiewicz (190-84) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and center Lukasz Paul (205-89, agency: Promotex) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively. SKK Siedlce (1-5) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with AZS PP and Rosa II Radom. GTK Gliwice at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Zaglebie and Astoria Bydg.. SKK Siedlce will meet higher ranked Astoria Bydg. (#11) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. GTK Gliwice will play against GKS Tychy and hope to secure a win.
