A very interesting game took place in Praha. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 9th ranked USK Praha (3-7) to fourth ranked Basketbal Svitavy (6-4) 66-65 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But USK Praha won second period 15-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Stanislav Votroubek (212-81) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Michal Sotnar (187-92) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Slovenian forward Mitja Nikolic-Smrdelj (200-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Slovenian center Matej Krusic (211-87) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for USK Praha in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Basketbal Svitavy maintains fourth place with 6-4 record. USK Praha lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Basketbal Svitavy's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked MMCITE Brno (#12) on the road and are hoping to win another game. USK Praha will play against the league's second-placed Prostejov (#2) and hope to win that game.
