The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (1-1) in Hangzhou on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (2-0) 139-115. The game was mostly controlled by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank managed to win fourth quarter 32-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's 60 and made 31-of-33 free shots (93.9 percent) during the game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 7 blocks. 29 personal fouls committed by Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!). Power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) replied with 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) added 28 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions is looking forward to face Shanghai Sharks on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play against Beijing Ducks and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
