Regular Season Round 12: Umea - Solna 107-101 OT

Umea (3-8) survived in overtime against Solna Vikings (3-6) by six points 107-101 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 20-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 17-11. Umea made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Umea outrebounded Solna Vikings 46-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard, agency: Court Side) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Omar Krayem (185-86, college: Cal.Baptist) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists. Krayem is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international forward Alexander Lindqvist (205-91) added 21 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Umea moved-up to eighth place. Solna Vikings at the other side keep the seventh position with six games lost. Umea will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Solna Vikings will play at home against Sundsvall Dragons (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
