Regular Season Round 5: Nantes - Orchy 74-82
Date: November 7, 2014
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Orchesien BC (4-1) defeated on the road 12th ranked Nantes (2-3) 82-74. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nantes won third quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Orchesien BC won last quarter 24-18. Strangely Nantes outrebounded Orchesien BC 48-23 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Nantes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Joshua Alexander (193-87, college: SF Austin) nailed 23 points for the winning side and Chris Daniels (200-82, college: Georgia) accounted for 16 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and forward Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Nantes in the defeat. Nantes' coach Franck Collineau rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Orchesien BC have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Nantes at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Orchesien BC's next round opponent will be Lille Metropole (#8) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Nantes will play against Hyeres-Toulon and hope to win that game.
