Rather predictable result in Dniprodzerzhynsk where sixth ranked BC Odessa (3-4) defeated 9th ranked DniproAzot (1-6) 75-68 on Friday. DniproAzot trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 24-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-75 at the end of the game. BC Odessa looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Denis Noskov (202-90) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Four BC Odessa players scored in double figures. American guard Eugene Harris (188-86, college: High Point, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 17 points and 4 assists and Bogdan Iasynenko (203-95) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory BC Odessa went down to seventh position due to points difference. Loser DniproAzot dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. BC Odessa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. DniproAzot will play against Mykolaiv (#4) and hope to win that game.
