Regular Season Round 7: Astoria Bydg. - SKK Siedlce 78-88

Bottom-ranked SKK Siedlce managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time newly promoted SKK Siedlce won against eleventh-ranked Astoria Bydg. in Bydgoszcz 88-78. And what about a second win in a row after ...five consecutive loses. The game was mostly controlled by SKK Siedlce. Astoria Bydg. was better in fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Astoria Bydg. 48-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Kamil Michalski (182-87, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 assists. Center Kamil Gawrzydek (207-87, college: Idaho St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four SKK Siedlce players scored in double figures. SKK Siedlce's coach Wieslaw Gluszczak allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Marcin Dymala (188-90) answered with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Sebastian Laydych (203-87) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Astoria Bydg.SKK Siedlce (2-5) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Astoria Bydg. SKK Siedlce will play against Rosa II Radom (#10) at home in the next round. Astoria Bydg. will play against GKS Tychy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
