Regular Season Round 5: VS Praha - Nymburk 69-77

Very expected game when 10th ranked VS Praha (1-4) lost at home to third ranked Nymburk (4-1) 77-69. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But VS Praha won third quarter 24-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded VS Praha 43-25 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jacinta Monroe (193-88, college: Florida St.) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Slovakian point guard Darina Misurova (163-81) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Nymburk players scored in double figures. International swingman Petra Zaplatova (175-91) produced 21 points and 6 assists and forward Karolina Elhotova (182-92) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nymburk keeps a position of league leader, which they share with IMOS Brno and Sokol HK. VS Praha lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with four games lost. Nymburk's next round opponent will be Basket Slovanka MB (#9) in Vodochody and are hoping to win another game. VS Praha will play on the road against SBS Ostrava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
