Regular Season Round 5: Sokol HK - USK Praha 55-85

The most surprising game was the first loss of Sokol Hradec Kralove (4-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by leader USK Praha (2-0) 85-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sokol Hradec Kralove. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-55. USK Praha dominated on the defensive end, holding Sokol Hradec Kralove to just 5 points in second quarter. They were well out of reach of Sokol Hradec Kralove shooting 75.5 percent from the field. Serbian forward Sonja Petrovic (189-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Spanish guard Laia Palau (177-79) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Four USK Praha players scored in double figures. Swingman Katerina Zavazalova (172-90) answered with 15 points and Belarusian swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-88, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points in the effort for Sokol Hradec Kralove. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Sokol Hradec Kralove at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with IMOS Brno and Nymburk. USK Praha are looking forward to face Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sokol Hradec Kralove will play against Aldast Strakonice (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
