Very important is a road loss of third ranked Brose Baskets (6-2) against seventh ranked Telekom Baskets (5-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Brose Baskets were defeated by Telekom Baskets in a tough game in Bonn 80-85. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Brose Baskets. It looked good early as Brose Baskets took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Telekom Baskets had a 30-17 second period charge getting the lead and Brose Baskets were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-85. Telekom Baskets made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Brose Baskets were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Richard McConnell (189-89, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) who added 13 points during the contest. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 15 points and 7 assists and his fellow American import guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) scored 21 points. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Telekom Baskets have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 5-3 record. Brose Baskets at the other side keep the third place with two games lost. They share the position with B.Muenchen and Art.Dragons. Telekom Baskets will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#9) on the road in the next round. Brose Baskets will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#14) and hope to get back on the winning track.
