Very predictable result when eighth ranked Finke Baskets (5-4) defeated on the road 15th ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (1-8) 75-60 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 41-18 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Thomas Bropleh (196, college: Boise St.) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Reggie Willhite (193-88, college: Yale) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Finke Baskets' coach Uli Naechster used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was Bill Borekambi (199-92, college: Sequoias CC) with 11 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jeffrey Martin (189-94, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Finke Baskets moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Cuxhaven BasCats keep the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Finke Baskets will face MLP Academics Heidelberg (#9) on the road in the next round. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against SC Rasta Vechta (#10) and hope to win that game.
