Regular Season Round 10: Kumamoto V. - Mitsubishi DD 86-103

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (7-3) beat on the road bottom-ranked Kumamoto V. (0-10) 103-86 on Friday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 103-86. Mitsubishi Dolphins made 31-of-39 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game, while Kumamoto V. only scored fifteen points from the stripe. Kumamoto V. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Brendan Lane (206-90, college: Pepperdine) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Yudai Maemura (176-87) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Kumamoto V.'s coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Mitsubishi Dolphins maintains second position with 7-3 record having just three points less than leader Hitachi SR, which they share with Hiroshima D. Kumamoto V. at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins will face league's second-placed Dragonflies in Hiroshima in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kumamoto V. will play on the road against Hyogo S. (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
