CBA top team - Liaoning Hunters (7-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat twentieth ranked Shanghai Sharks (0-6) 96-91. The guests were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 28-21 run, which allowed them to win the game. Liaoning Hunters outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 49-31 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) supported him with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds by American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) did not help to save the game for Shanghai Sharks. Shanghai Sharks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Liaoning Hunters have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Shanghai Sharks at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Bayi R.. Liaoning Hunters will play against TianJin Steel (#11) in Tianjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
